Music
"Music is the last true voice of the human spirit. It can go beyond language, beyond age, and beyond colour straight to the mind and heart of all people."
Ben Harper - American musician
Music: Our Intent for the subject.
At Walter Evans, our music curriculum intends to inspire creativity, self-expression and encourages our children on their musical journeys to develop their love of music and their talent as musicians. We hope to foster a life-long love of music by exposing them to diverse musical experiences and igniting a passion for music to equip children with the attitudes, language, knowledge and skills required for their transition to KS3. Our intention is that children gain a firm understanding of what music is through listening, singing, playing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide variety of historical periods, styles, traditions and musical genres.
