Darley Abbey Festive Tree Trail and carols
Darley Abbey’s Festive Tree Trail and carols 2025!
When: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th December 2025
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and, back for 2025, we’re encouraging households across Darley Abbey to dress a tree, bush, shrub or even a wall outside your house to celebrate this festive season! The theme for this year is the North Pole!
Here are some ideas to help:
Environment: why not create eco-friendly, recycled decorations made from bottle tops, corks or wood?
Animals: why not create some crafty animals that live and love the North Pole?
The man himself!: why not create a tree inspired by good old Father Christmas!
The details: Please dress your outdoor tree or space by 10am on Saturday 13th. The trail will run from 10am until 6pm on 13th and 14th December, with carols outside the church on 14th at 5:45pm.
The map: download a simple map on this page from Dec 1st which shows the basic routes around the village, but people are encouraged to wander around at their leisure and enjoy! We hope for plenty of trees in addition to the locations marked on the current map, but the tree symbols show where you will see festive trees as you follow the trail. You can find the map here!!
Celebration event: Come together from 5:45pm on Sunday 14th, for a tree trail celebration outside St Matthews Church, bring your own refreshments and voices ready for Christmas songs and chance to compare tree trail tips! This is an open event for all the community and whilst we are asking you to bring your own drinks, we would love people to bring any baked donations such as cake and mince pies to share together. (Please ensure they contain no nuts and label clearly any allergens). Please bring baked donations to the Fellowship Rooms for 5:30pm on 14th. Please bring drinks with you (no glass bottles, please) and a torch to read carol sheets.
We can’t wait to see Darley Abbey bursting with festive spirit this year!
