Walter Evans has a one point entry system. This means that pupils enter school in the September before their fifth birthday.
Parents / carers considering application to Walter Evans are most welcome to visit the school by appointment. To apply for a place for your child at Walter Evans you will need to contact the Local Authority – Derby City Council Admissions on 01332 642729.

Applications for admissions to Reception in September 2022 will be accepted by Derby City Council from 5 November 2021, the closing date for online applications is 14 January 2022. As a member of the Derby Diocesan Academy Trust, Walter Evans CE Primary and Nursery School requires that a School's Information Form (formerly known as the Supplementary Form) is completed to support the application for your child, please see the link below. This completed form should be returned directly to Walter Evans School either in paper form or emailed to email@example.com.

You can register your child for our Nursery when they reach the age of 2 years.

Parents wishing to appeal against the governors' refusal to admit a child should write to:-

Envelopes should be clearly marked "APPEAL".
Arrangements will then be made for an independent panel to consider the appeal. Appeals must be made within 20 days of receiving notification of the refusal of a place from the Local Authority and are usually heard within 6 school weeks (exclusive of school holidays).
