Aims and Values

Values

Our distinctive ethos springs from our close links with church and community. We provide a family atmosphere throughout the school, striving to preserve Christian values in a caring, secure and happy environment. Being a faith school is an enrichment, as it encourages the children's spiritual and moral development, and helps them to experience school life in the context of a wider community in the neighbourhood and beyond. We work in partnership with the local community and, although within the City of Derby, we are proud to identify ourselves as a village school.

Aims

The School will build on its strengths,

  • drawing on its experience and distinctive ethos as a faith school,
  • developing as an inclusive, neighbourhood school,
  • raising standards in all aspects of the children's development, and,
  • valuing its partnership with the children, the teaching and support staff, the parents, the governing body, the Church, the community, neighbouring schools, the City education service and local businesses.

The Children will develop in the widest possible sense, spiritually, morally, socially, emotionally, culturally, intellectually and physically,in a safe, orderly, happy and caring environment.
